Bewick’s start migration

Yulia Leonova from the Nenetskiy Zapovednik nature reserve in north-western Russia has reported that the mass migration of Bewick’s swans from the arctic tundra has begun in good weather conditions (+10C). Large flocks have been seen gathering in the Korovinskaya Bay near Kashin since 14 September. One of WWT’s tagged birds named “Hope”, who we have been following since 2014, has also started her migration.
